  23.        This patch contains fixes for the following bugs in IRIX
  24.        5.3.  Bug numbers from Silicon Graphics bug tracking system

  27.           +o The IRIX 5.3 release of IDO (IRIX Development Option)
  28.             does not contain certain libraries, header files, and
  29.             manual pages which pertain to the IRIX 5.3 with XFS
  30.             release.  These changes are useful for programmers
  31.             developing applications for the IRIX 5.3 with XFS
  32.             release.  (Bug #253016)

  49.        Because you want to install patches for only the problems
  50.        you have encountered, patch software is not installed by
  51.        default. After reading the descriptions of the bugs fixed in
  52.        this patch, determine the patches that meet your specific
  53.        needs.

  55.        Patch software is installed like any other Silicon Graphics
  56.        software product.  Follow the instructions in your _I_R_I_S
  57.        _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n _G_u_i_d_e to bring up the miniroot form of
  58.        the software installation tools.

  74.        Follow these steps to select a patch for installation:

  76.          1.  At the Inst>prompt, type

  82.          2.  Select the desired patches for installation.

  84.          3.  Initiate the installation sequence. Type

  88.          4.  You may find that two patches have been marked as
  89.              incompatible.  If this occurs, you must deselect one
  90.              of the patches.

  102.        To remove a patch, use the _v_e_r_s_i_o_n_s _r_e_m_o_v_e command as you
  103.        would for any other software subsystem.  The removal process
  104.        reinstates the original version of software unless you have
  105.        specifically removed the patch history from your system.
